THE LAST ONE

Our Story

Tarannya was born at the rhythm of an heirloom, my late mother’s wooden sewing machine. What began as a way to honour her legacy has grown into a conscious craft movement, stitching stories that are both personal and timeless.

At the heart of our work lie India’s diverse textiles, each weave carrying the wisdom of its region, its artisans, and its traditions. When you take home a Tarannya creation, you carry not just cotton and thread, but a story.

From loom to love, our promise is simple:

create pieces that respect the planet, celebrate our artisans & become uniquely yours.

Meet The Founder

tarannya Founder

Lipika Dutta

For two decades, I lived in the corporate world, a space that built my resilience but never lit the fire in me. At 50, I decided it wasn’t too late to rewrite my story. I inherited my mother's sewing machine and traded boardrooms for handlooms. That day, tarannya was born.

I travel across India seeking not just diverse textiles but also the stories behind them. Each journey across India bring me closer to artisans who weave not only cloth, but heritage. And through Tarannya, I hope their stories travel further - into bags, journals, and the everyday lives of people like you.

There’s a line from the film '3 Idiots' that I hold close: “Give me another chance, I wanna grow up once again”.
Tarannya is that second chance, a chance to grow, create & weave.
